Intention setting for 2024 (or anytime actually…)

Now we have reflected on our challenges, lessons and blessings from 2023 (not done this yet, I'd highly recommend taking some time to do this, see my previous post for how), we can bring our attention to setting our intentions for the year to come - 2024. The process is similar but instead of reflecting back we are forward focused.


Find a quiet moment, your pen and journal / notebook, and take a few long, deep, cleansing breaths to really bring yourself into the present moment.


When you feel calm and clear, start feeling in to the energy of what YOU would like to bring into creation in 2024. (You, not anyone else…this can be challenging when we spend so much time focusing on everyone else in our lives!)


How would YOU like to feel?

What would YOU like a achieve?

What would YOU like to create?

What would YOU like to heal or release?


This is not New Years resolutions, which can often be unrealistic goals that set us up for almost certain failure, based around restriction, changing ourselves and comparison, because we don’t feel good enough.


NOPE! No thank you - not for us! We are already enough!


This is about setting intentions, and yes, even some goals around the things we would like to practically achieve, but with an open, flexible and crucially loving energy.


Examples of intentions might include:

How we wish to feel - calmer, clearer, more energised etc

A desire to build confidence

An increase in self-acceptance


A goal is more related to an external accomplishment (which can potentially support us in our intentions or be supported by our intentions), for instance, learn to paint / run 5km / train in a skill etc.


When you are ready and feeling good you can start:


  • Write 2024 at the centre of the page (I like to enclose it in a heart 🤍 but you do you) and surround it with all the words that embody the energy you would like bring into the coming year.


  • Then pick 1-3 of these words - the ones that you most wish to embody in the coming year.


To give you an example, mine this year are:


Confidence

Expansion

Freedom


  • Now ask yourself:


What does my true self want for me in the coming year?


What would I love to experience in 2024 and beyond?


List everything that comes up. Remember to work with positive language for example,

‘I would love to feel more peaceful’, has a very different energy to ‘I don’t want to feel stressed’.


Be bold! Don’t hold back and only write what you think is realistic.

Allow yourself to dream! You are setting the energy for your future and you may be surprised at what shows up 💫 intention setting is powerful and you have nothing to lose by writing it down!


  • Keep it somewhere safe to reflect upon throughout this year, next year (and beyond) - you’ll be amazed and some of the things that come into your reality!
